Directly from university to ZLU

On graduating from university it is difficult to choose your first employer. My decision to go to a smaller consultancy was based mainly on the hope that its flexible structures would make it possible to develop quickly, while at the same time offering the chance to take on assignments with full responsibility right from the start.

After I had familiarised myself with the basics of consultancy in a two-month period participating in a first project, I had the first opportunity to contribute to a major project right from the start. The special thing about this project is that the strategies developed in the analysis phase are implemented in the client’s company on a result-oriented basis. Where the activities of many management consultancies stop is where ZLU starts. The focus of the activity shifts from analysing and developing general concepts to the detailed planning of specific strategies and their implementation in cooperation with the client’s management. The implementation phase is particularly interesting, because ZLU undertakes to meet the targets defined with the client in the analysis phase, with success-based payment.

The project with a leading German car manufacturer offered me a first opportunity to see processes in another country from a logistical point of view and to establish a first network in the company.
