Project example: Rapidly growing client in the high-tech sector

Restructuring and downsizing are not part of the vocabulary of this client.

In contrast to many other projects, the remit in this case is not to reduce costs but to adapt processes and IT-systems to the extreme growth of order placements.

The advantage of such projects is definitely the positive cooperation with the client’s own personnel. The consultant is viewed as someone able to provide assistance in coping with the overwhelming volumes of daily work. The challenge is to develop flexible solutions which will also be appropriate to meet the needs of tomorrow. And with business growing so rapidly, the demands on the organisation and the logistical processes are constantly changing.

The consultant must establish a good network of contacts in the client’s organisation in order to learn at an early stage about new developments, e.g. major new customers, new appointments, the acquisition of production machinery, or new locations. It is important always to be thinking one step ahead of the client.
